EL CONCEPTO: Los fragmentos dispersos de una memoria histórica que adornan y yacen sobre los terrenos franceses cobran vida hacia la construcción del deseo humano de habitar las alturas y de relacionarse con la naturaleza. Desde una mirada contemporánea y siendo consciente del entorno, nuestra propuesta se inspira en las estructuras existentes cuyo estado de ruina sugiere la idea de fragmentos que con el paso del tiempo han ido cayendo, atestiguando el reclamo de la naturaleza sobre las construcciones humanas deshabitadas. La composición formal de nuestros módulos es una expresión física de un elemento armado a partir de bloques, piezas o fragmentos que configuran una silueta de apariencia irregular e incompleta propia del imaginario de ruina.
THE CONCEPT: The scattered fragments of a historical memory that adorn and lie up on French lands come to life towards the realization of the human desire to inhabit the heights and to connect with nature. From a contemporary point of view and being aware of the environment, our proposal is inspired by the existing structures whose state of ruin suggests the idea of fragments that have fallen over time, attesting to the claim of nature on uninhabited human constructions. The formal composition of our modules is a physical expression of an element assembled from blocks, pieces or fragments that make up an irregular and incomplete-looking silhouette typical of the imaginary of ruin and aiming to build a new dream as it is to live in the trees.
EL ESPACIO Y LA EXPERIENCIA: Morar en las alturas en medio de los árboles sugiere una experiencia especial, alejada en cierto sentido de los modos convencionales de habitar; por lo tanto, la organización de los módulos constituye una sucesión de áreas a medios niveles que proveen dinámicas espaciales singulares y exaltan la verticalidad, característica común de las estructuras medievales e intención propia del deseo humano de conectarse con el cielo y las alturas. Esta forma de organizar el espacio permite tener un núcleo vertical que conecta cada nivel por medio de una escalera tipo samba y cada espacio es orientado con la intención de ofrecer una perspectiva única del entorno y enmarcar paisajes diferentes. Estas dinámicas espaciales y las maneras de relacionarse con el entorno exaltan los conceptos de aventura y curiosidad que son parte fundamental del imaginario de vivir en las alturas.
THE SPACE AND EXPERIENCE: Dwelling up high in the middle of the trees suggests a special experience, distant in a certain sense from the conventional ways of living; therefore, the organization of the modules constitutes a succession of areas at half levels that provide singular spatial dynamics and exalt verticality, a common characteristic of medieval structures and the intention of the human desire to connect with the sky and the heights. This way of organizing the space allows for a vertical core that connects each level by means of a samba-type staircase, and each space is oriented with the intention of offering a unique perspective of the environment and framing different landscapes. These spatial dynamics and the ways of relating to the environment exalt the concepts of adventure and curiosity that are a fundamental part of the imaginary of living in the heights.
LA IMPLANTACIÓN: Una de las premisas de la propuesta ha sido el respeto por la naturaleza y los castillos en ruina; por esta razón el diseño contempla la construcción de casas entre árboles y no sobre los árboles. Con una distancia no menor a 20 metros entre sí se propone distribuir los módulos en las zonas con mayor densidad arbórea, esta misma distancia deberá ser contemplada respecto a los castillos, marcando un límite respetuoso de su existencia y pasado histórico.
THE LOCATION: One of the ideas of the proposal has been to respect nature and the ruined castles; for this reason, the design contemplates the construction of the modules among trees and not on trees. With a distance of not less than 20 meters from each other, it is proposed to distribute the modules in high density tree areas as well as keeping the same distance towards the ruins, marking a respectful limit of their existence and historical past.
